Description

The Great Dane 6 x 6 is a highly capable and customizable vehicle produced in variants of 4, 6, 8 or 10 wheels. All vehicles in the system use the same serviceable components - a true “Vehicle System”, enabling the Great Dane's configuration to be adapted in about 2 hours using different mission kits. Powered by a 600 HP Caterpillar engine with 6 speed transmission, in a fully protected engine assembly, the Great Dane has a great amount of power available. The Great Dane also features driver selectable all wheel steering, high wheel travel, joystick operated active suspension as well as lowering suspensions for quick troop ingress/egress. The vehicle features a modular armor system, which allows for changing survivability protection levels higher, lower or as required. The Great Dane can seat between 10 and 14 personnel in the vehicle, with 4 crew in the front cockpit. It also has the ability to mount 1 man, 2 man or Remote Weapon Systems, Up Gunned Weapon Stations, or LAV type turrets with 25, 30 or 40mm interchangeable main weapons.

The purpose of the Association of Testing Centers for Anti-Aggressive Materials and Constructions (VPAM) is to promote the exchange of experience, mutual assistance in technical matters and mutual information.

Among other things, a common opinion will be made possible in central questions of the testing of attack-inhibiting materials (eg. in the development and introduction of new standards and guidelines).

Members of VPAM are independent and committed to neutrality. the testing bodies, which are members of the VPAM, work according to the relevant quality standards EN ISO / IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of test laboratories) and EN 45011 (General requirements for bodies which operate product certification systems.
